Safety tips
Version 1.0 · In force from 4 November 2026
Your safety comes first. We can't know who every person is. These guidelines help you:
miwuu DOES NOT CONDUCT CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS ON ITS MEMBERS OR SUBSCRIBERS.
These precautions help:
Before you meet
- Be careful with any stranger who wants to meet you. Nothing replaces caution.
- A profile may not be who it claims to be.
- Don't put in your profile or first messages your surname, email, address, phone number or where you work.
- Stop talking to anyone who pressures you for personal details or money. Never send money or codes, even if the story sounds real.
- Chat for a while first; if something doesn't add up, trust your instinct.
When you meet
- Tell someone you trust where you're going, who with and when you'll be back.
- In the chat, "Share my plan" prepares a message with who you are meeting, when and where, so you can send it to that trusted person from your phone. miwuu doesn't send this plan to its servers; it stays on your phone.
- Meet in a busy public place. Don't let them pick you up at home.
- Get there and back on your own.
- If you meet at home, share the address and time with someone you trust.
- Watch your drink and never leave it unattended.
- Keep your phone charged.
- If you feel uncomfortable, leave. You don't need an excuse.
Consent
- Consent is asked for, given clearly and can be withdrawn at any time.
- What someone puts on their profile is not a promise or a permission.
If something goes wrong
- Immediate danger: 112.
- If something goes wrong, it's not your fault.
- Report in the app from the profile or the chat.
